Your questions answered

  • Are there welcome drinks?

Duh. Join us for cocktails and canapes at Discovery Shores at Station 1 on Friday, 6 December at 5PM. Wear all white - Mark insists.

  • Are kids welcome?

Absolutely. There are nannies available as well as a kids club at the Shangri La Boracay.

  • Can I wear heels?

A wedge or thick heel is recommended. Dinner is on the sand so we’ll provide beach slides in case you’re tempted to ditch your shoes.

  • What is the dress code for the wedding?

Cocktail! Think linen and cotton suits for the gents (ties optional). For the ladies? Frock up, be fun and flirty. It will warm and humid so dress in light in fabrics that will keep you cool.

  • How do I get around Boracay Island?

Getting around Boracay Island is fairly easy. The island is quite small – just 7 km from north to south and about 2 km across at the widest point. You can hop on a trike, hire a paraw (sailboat) to island hop or take the hotel shuttle. When staying on Station 1, 2 or 3 everything is in walking distance - just stroll down the beach.

  • What time does the wedding end?

10pm but for those that want to kick on, jump on a shuttle with us to Epic Nightclub in Station 2. We’ve reserved a section to keep the night alive - everyone welcome!

  • How do we pay for things?

The currency is Philippine Peso (PHP). Download the XE app to compare currencies. Most places accept card (international fees apply), there is ATMs at hotels and at D’Mall in Station 2. To avoid fees, we recommend getting a Wise account and using a Wise debit card to pay for things and to withdraw cash in PHP.

  • What's there to do in Boracay?

You can go snorkeling, cliff diving, island-hopping, parasailing, paddleboarding, banana boating, hire a jet ski and an ATV. Go bar hopping, stroll along the beach or just chill by the pool. Our favourite thing to do? Hire a paraw (local sailboat) to take you out on the water for the sunset. So much room for activities (IYKYK).

  • What are you guys doing after the wedding?

We’re off to stay at Club Paradise in Coron, Palawan. You are most welcome to follow us! Reach out for more details.

  • Tell me about other must see places in the Philippines!

We’ve watched a lot of YouTube to figure this out so our top 3 picks are Coron, El Nido and Cebu. Avoid Siargao in December as it is wet season there.

  • Will be there a recovery post wedding?

We’re going to lay by the pool at the Shangri La in then head to DiniBeachBar around 4pm that afternoon. Hair of the dog it is.

  • What are you guys doing on Saturday, 7 December? Any plans?

Chilling! Go enjoy your holiday. Relax, bar hop, paddleboard, get sloshed at the swim up bar.

  • I need help with hair and make up done! Help!

Reach out to Ellie and she will hook you up with a local hair and make up artist.

  • When do I need to pay accommodation at the Shangri La Boracay?

Payment needs to be made 120 days prior to arrival date so expect to pay in full in August 2024.

  • What about gifts?

We’re so, so grateful that you’ve flown all this way to celebrate our wedding. Your presence is our present so please don’t feel obligated to give us a gift. Be merry, that is all we ask!
